Application
(1) Highly reactive: The powder state maximizes the contact area of calcium carbide particles. When reacting with water, the rate of releasing acetylene (C₂H₂) per unit time is much higher than that of bulk calcium carbide (up to 3-5 times that of ordinary calcium carbide).
It is suitable for scenarios that require instantaneous high flow of acetylene (such as precision combustion and rapid synthesis reactions).
(2) Rapid and complete reaction: Traditional bulk calcium carbide forms a calcium hydroxide (Ca(OH)₂) coating after surface reaction, which hinders the internal reaction. The utilization rate is usually only 70-85%. Powdered calcium carbide has tiny particles and almost 100% reaction, with no core unreacted residue, which significantly reduces the amount of waste residue.
