Our calcium carbide has High Gas Yield, High Stability, High Safety.
Enabling us to establish partnerships with numerous acetylene production and steel desulfurization plants worldwide.
Size:
20-40mm
Product Advantages:
High gas yield, High purity, Stable performance, and Safety in use
Application
(1) The main raw material for producing acetylene gas.
(2) Cutting and welding for metal material
(3) To synthesize polyvinyl chloride (PVC)
(4) Fruit Catalyst
(5) The desulfurizer in steel industry
Optimal reaction equilibrium: Steady gas generation without pressure surges or generator residue clogging. Guaranteed Gas Yield ≥ 295 L/kg.
The 20–40mm mesh size is the most widely specified raw material for commercial gas refilling stations and metal fabrication shops. It solves the two biggest headaches in gas production:
No Pressure Surges: Unlike fine powder, 20-40mm lumps do not dissolve instantly, preventing dangerous pressure spikes in hopper-fed generators.
Zero Pipe Blockage: Large enough to stay in the reaction grate while slowly dissolving, eliminating lime-slurry choking and downtime.
Maximizing Cylinder Yield: Delivers a steady, predictable gas curve ideal for compressing standard oxy-acetylene welding cylinders.
1 Metric Ton of 20–40mm CaC2 (≥295 L/kg) = Approx. 295 m³ Pure Acetylene Gas
(Sufficient to fill approximately 45–50 standard 6.0m³ acetylene gas cylinders)

Packing and delivery

Precautions
Inspection upon Receipt
-Inspect drums upon receipt, paying attention to moisture (e.g., snow, ice shouldbe removed before storage).
-Check for signs of swelling, heat, or mechanical damage.
Handling Hot Drums
-If a drum is hot, do not cool it with water, and do not move the drum until it hascooled completely.
-The area should be cordoned off, and entry restricted until the drum cools.
Opening the Drum
-Use non-sparking tools (e.g,, brass hammer) to open the drum in a designatedarea.
-Ensure drums are opened only immediately before the calcium carbide is requiredfor use.
Personal ProtectiveEquipment
-Wear personal protective equipment (PpE), including gloves, helmets, and faceshields when opening drums and handling calcium carbide.
Transferring Calcium Carbide
- Use a charging skip or specialized transfer equipment, ensuring proper groundingduring transfer.
-All transfer tools should be equipped with gas-purging systems and anti-staticproperties.
Cleaning up Spillage
-Use natural fiber brooms and non-sparking tools to sweep up any spillage during transfer.
-Calcium carbide dust should be disposed of safely.
